If you love off-roading, then the TRD Pro Series trucks are for you. The TRD Pro equipment is not just a package, it’a lifestyle. For over 35 years, Toyota Racing Development has been a major force in motorsports, racking up numerous off-road racing victories in the grueling Baja 500 and Baja 1000. Now, born from the lessons learned in the Mexican desert, Toyota is offering the TRD Pro Series Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner. Each of these terrain-conquering trucks comes fully equipped with the TRD hardware that helps serious off-roaders go places they never dreamed possible.
These are the most adventurous TRD production models offered so far (or to date): An amazing mix of TRD engineering and head-turning style, all in a turn-key model that you can drive off the lot and straight into the dirt. Plus, because they’re from Toyota and TRD, you know that every component has been designed and built for optimum durability. So if you’re looking for a new truck that turns heads as quickly as it climbs hills, look no further than the TRD Pro Series Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner.
NOT ALL OFF-ROADERS ARE ALIKE, THAT'S WHY THERE ARE THREE TRD PRO SERIES MODELS
The Tundra is one tough half-ton full-size truck that just got tougher, thanks to the new TRD Pro model. You can tell the minute you lay eyes on this truck – it has a brawnier, more chiseled look, but that's only half the story. Once you get this truck off the highway, you'll appreciate the TRD upgraded suspension while enjoying the throaty exhaust note of the TRD dual exhaust. That’s a winning combination!
Toyota rocked the truck world – and the Baja 1000 – with the introduction of the 2015 Toyota Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner TRD Pro Series models. Now there’s even better news: Those exceptional TRD Pro Series accessories are also available for select Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner models so you can transform your Toyota into a rugged off-road terrain tamer. These TRD Pro Series accessories are specifically engineered and designed for Toyota vehicles, allowing you to work hard and play even harder. Case in point, the TRD Pro Series Bilstein shocks are not “off-the-shelf” models – TRD’s engineers worked with Bilstein to refine the internal damping to provide longer wheel travel as well as enhanced control. The TRD Pro Series line includes everything from the aforementioned shock absorbers to rugged, eye-catching wheels, plus everything in between. And each one has been specifically refined and tested to enhance your off-road adventures. So when you’re ready to get serious about upgrading your Tundra, Tacoma or 4Runner, count on TRD Pro Series accessories.
Love off-roading? How about off-roading on your smart phone? Here’s your chance to be the first to take the TRD Pro Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner off-road and online. Choose your favorite TRD Pro vehicle (or heck, race them all) and put them to the test on some of the toughest, muddiest, most grueling online off-road track. If you’re serious about off-road driving, then you probably know all about spring rates, shock absorber design and suspension travel. That being said, these specs will make you drool: The Tundra TRD Pro Series features lower-rate TRD Eibach springs that help raise the nose two inches, while improving tracking while driving off road. Next, it sports special TRD Bilstein coil-over shocks that have a 2.5-inch body (similar to what you might find on an off-road racing truck). These shocks deliver two more inches of downward wheel travel, and the main piston on these shocks is 60mm – that’s 30 percent larger than the standard Tundra shocks. Internally, these shocks feature 3-stage position- sensitive valving, which necessitated adding a remote reservoir to help ensure consistent damping while helping to control shock temperature. What does all this mean to you? Get out your map and start looking for the trails!
